About Toyota Teen Driver
The first year after a teen gets their license will be one of the most dangerous years of their life. (Source: National Safety Council) That’s why Toyota and Discovery Education teamed up to create Toyota Teen Driver, a comprehensive program designed to help teens avoid distractions and stay safe behind the wheel. Toyota Teen Driver offers a range of tools designed specifically for the people who can have the greatest impact on a teens driving: educators, parents, and the teens themselves.
Teen driver education from Toyota and Discovery Education
Toyota has been investing in teen safe driving education since 2004. In 2010, the company decided to broaden the reach and investment in teen safety, and partnered with Discovery Education because of the organization’s expertise and reach into U.S. schools. Together, we created Toyota Teen Driver to provide free teen safe driving resources to anyone who needs them, as well as contests to inspire teens, parents, and schools to make a lasting commitment to safety.
Toyota Teen Driver joins many other safety programs from Toyota, including:
TeenDrive365: Teens pick up on everything their parents do behind the wheel. Good…and bad. That's why Toyota created TeenDrive365 – an initiative to help parents talk with their teen about safe driving during a teen’s first year behind the wheel and beyond.
Toyota Driving Expectations is a free program that was created in 2004. The program aims to supplement standard driving education courses with opportunities for teens and their parents to learn about defensive driving, the impact of distractions and safe driving habits
In addition, Toyota is proud to partner with the National Safety Council to support “Alive @ 25” and “Drive it Home". We also are the co-sponsor of Do Something.org’s annual “Thumb Wars” campaign. To view other leading safety partners, visit Our Partners page.
